I'm talking about the Michael Jackson video for “Black or White.” The controversial last minutes, where Michael takes a sledgehammer to a car, were edited out of the film. After his death, they were returned to the video on MTV.
Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, passes away. Michael Jackson found his rocket to stardom not among the Jackson 5, but in the pop music VH1 and MTV era of the 1980s. His charismatic stage performances and brilliant music videos from the time will always stand out in my mind as some of the very few times I looked out of my child’s-eyes, gazed upon something profound and said–simply–”wow.” These moments are in no particular order. I thought of them and wrote them down as they came. They should all be considered with equal weight; how do you weigh a giant ?
