Bill Murray’s Wife Files for Divorce

The wife of entertainer Bill Murray has just filed for divorce, after 11 years of marriage. Jennifer Butler Murray has some pretty ugly allegations against Bill Murray.
Jennifer Murray filed for divorce on May 12 in Charleston County, South Carolina. She currently has a residence there along with her four children.
Jennifer claims that Bill Murray was abusive and that he is addicted to both marijuana and alcohol. She also claims Bill often abandoned their family.
John McDougall, Bill Murray’s attorney would not comment on the specific allegations but did state the entertainer “is deeply saddened by the breakup of his marriage.”
“He and his wife made loving parents and they are committed to the best interests of their children,” McDougall said.
The couple did have a prenuptial agreement in which both parties waived their right to alimony if their marriage ended. But Bill Murray did offer to pay his wife $7 million within 60 days of their finalized divorce.
Although the complaint does not give specifics, it contained information that he “travels overseas where he engages in public and private altercations and sexual liaisons.”
The document also alleges that Bill Murray physically abused his wife that in November 2007 that he “hit her in the face and then told her she was ‘lucky he didn’t kill her.’”
